It's a 38-inch high-wedge with a completely exposed, completely worked-over 2-liter Abarth-Fiat engine making roughly 220 hp through a pair of side-draught Webers. That's what it is, but knowing that doesn't change how shockingly great it sounds. This 2000 Scorpio Concept debuted in 1969, the work of Pininfarina—who else? It was at the Villa d'Este show this month, and thankfully it wasn't just on static display.

Come for the angles and the pop-up light bar, stay for the wild-animal howling of the 2-liter four.
